Moab Burlesque Class of 2026 Group Meeting on Sunday, 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM Mountain Time. I sent you a Google Calendar invite from director@lunaticcircvs.com, or the Google meet link is here:
https://meet.google.com/fkb-ioav-wym
Please add this to whatever calendar you use to ensure that you make it if you can! If you can't make it, please respond to this text with any times you'd be able to meet on Monday, or schedule a 1-on-1 with me that accommodates your schedule in the upcoming week.
As a friendly reminder, as much as I want to be supportive and understanding, I need to put up a boundary with chasing people down this year for responses and follow through. I'll present the policy about responding, scheduling, and showing up at the meeting, but I will be prioritizing moving forward with individuals who communicate with me directly and without prompting. Currently we have enough people for 2 nights of shows, but I am open to move forward with one show if the level of presence required for this show proves to be something that is beyond your capacity at the moment. Please talk to me if you have any concerns about this, I think you'll find that the terms are actually quite flexible and understanding, but there have already been individuals who have not heeded deadlines or requests for availability, and I want to be clear that this will not be tolerated. Thanks for understanding.
Moab Burlesque 2026 Roll Call!
You are receiving this text if you filled out the form and indicated interest for any role: Principal Performer, Stage Kitten, or Volunteer/Staff. You will only receive messages that pertain to your selected role.
To kick off this season, I will hold a meeting online THIS WEEK. If necessary, I will hold two based on availability, and regardless, any meetings will be recorded for later viewing. Please follow this link to indicate your availability between Thursday and Sunday: https://www.when2meet.com/?38604213-XcSNT
We will cover all your burning questions in this meeting, as well as some key dates and what to expect. Feel free to respond with any questions that you'd like to be addressed. After the group meeting, I will be available for individual calls and meetings before we get started.
In person rehearsals begin the week of September 28th. More info coming on how to sign up for rehearsal slots.

How this year works
Rehearsals
- At least one 15-minute slot per week. Come early or stay late to watch, give feedback, and workshop.
- Miss one without timely communication and follow-up, and that's rough for both of us. Miss a second, and you're out of the show.
- Stage kittens rehearse separately; Michelle choreographs the boylesque number.
Your act
- About 3 minutes, give or take 30 seconds. DJs can help edit a longer song.
- Start with more clothes, end with fewer. Sexy, silly, or absurd is up to you.
- Pasties required, no matter how you identify.
- Rehearse with the real props and costume, or stand-ins. No week-of figuring it out.
- Show night is sober until after your act. No exceptions.
The two nights
- You'll typically perform one night (kittens work both). Neither night is "the better" night.
- Friday is subject to cancellation if too few performers make it through the cohort.
Privacy
- The first rule of Moab Burlesque: you don't talk about Moab Burlesque. Not publicly, not with anyone who isn't already in.
- New names go to Michelle directly.
Invitations
- Only principal performers and Helipad staff invite guests. Every invitation goes out from Michelle, privately.
- No whole-cohort guest-list approval this year. You can put names on a veto list instead. Vetoes carry your name and are acted on only for documented harm.
- Prefer not to bring something to Michelle directly? Conflict-resolution agents will be named this season.
Support
- Group meetings, creative sessions, coaching, one-on-ones for nerves, creativity, or logistics. Dedicated photo nights.
- You can ask for mentorship on music, the creative process, costume, choreography, or stage presence.
Social contract
- Self and mutual respect and consideration
- Informed consent is required
- Guarantee to privacy and safety, in person and digitally
- Discussing your act outside our cohort is discouraged
- Be open to conflict resolution and feedback
- Critique ideas, not individuals
- Show up, follow through
